We are going cup-less!
No more disposable cups at our events. We will have reusable cups for you to purchase on race day or at packet pickup. Or bring your own. Water and Gatorade at all refueling stations: Bring your own cup! Water station video
Re-usable cups for sale:
We will have re-usable cups for sale for $2 each at packet pickup and on race day
What about masks and the like?
The health department is telling us that we do not need any masks for this event, soooo you do what's comfortable for you and we are all good. If the rules change by race day we will of course announce the details as soon as we know them. We will also have Hand Sanitizer stations available at expo

National hat day is in january each year and this event is our way of celebrating national hat day and to honor the proud rich history of the Sombrero. Here are some fun facts about the Sombrero

Meet at Rancho Simi Park (duck pond park) at the intersection of Royal Ave and Thompson Ln.
Early start option:
We are proud to announce a “early start” option for the half marathon runners that need a little more time to finish and still be part of all the fun at the post race party. “Early Start” is at 6 am on race day; BUT you have to let us know ahead of time so that we can capture your bib number for the official timing stats. We will NOT have all of our water stations setup until about 6:30 am so you are on your own for water for the first 30 minutes. You must know the course if you want to use the early option. Please follow all traffic laws when crossing the street because traffic control won't be out there till 7 am.
Weekend Warriors / Beginners / walkers:
Yes, this is a very walker friendly course! It is mostly flat, with a few gentle rollers to keep you on your game. There are plenty of water stations and loads of fun! Generous 4:00 hour time limit for the half marathon, so take your time and enjoy the scenery!
Middle of the pack runners:
Looking for a PR (Personal Record)?? This is the race for you! Mostly flat course, with some gentle rollers and plenty of room to make your move towards your new PR
Elite and Advanced runners:
This mostly flat course with some mild rollers. There are some long flat stretches to allow you to really open up your speed along the last few miles of the course.
